Doreen G. Hills is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York, National Certified Counselor, Clinical Certified Juvenile Treatment Specialist, Clinically Certified Forensic Counselor, Certified EMDR Therapist, and Clinically Certified Trauma Professional.

She’s also trained in EMDR-Sandtray and completed certification in Neurosequential

Doreen served as the Vice Chair for the Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners for the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) for 4 years.

She has been a mental health provider for over 20 years and has worked in various mental health settings in New York, Philippines, and Colorado.

She has done numerous trainings on complex trauma, attachment, grief and loss, neuroscience, vicarious trauma, human trafficking, leadership, and the list goes on.

She has done several podcast episodes with The Trauma Therapist Podcast.

In her early years in the US, she has worked as caseworker, residential manager, and hotline worker.

In the Philippines, Doreen spent time with fishermen in the Philippines, orphans and Muslims in Manila. These experiences gave her immense insight to trauma, resiliency and healing.

Doreen believes in community partnership, collaboration, and coordination of services. She utilizes different approaches to trauma and attachment healing. She believes that there is no such thing as "one size fits all" in trauma treatment and that trauma needs to be healed using mind and body approaches.

In her spare time, Doreen loves being with her family, travel between Colorado, Florida, California and visit her cute little “El Chanko” grandbaby, reading, home decorating, gardening, Filipino food, listening to jazz, karaoke, quiet moments in the form of nap “siesta”.
